Writing an Artist's Statement Kay Brathol-Hostvet
Whether you do or don't like to write or talk about your work won't change the fact that it is usually
a required document when applying for shows, grants, or for gallery representation. A well-written artist's statement can
help the general public better understand your processes, intent, or themes. It can also help a gallery director sell your
work by giving them a tool to explain it to a potential buyer. Learn how to write a clear, concise statement. Bring a notebook
and pencil; you'll be writing about your real or imagined works. For a complete portfolio experience, consider taking the
afternoon seminar, too. Sun Nov 10,

Learn to Mix Colors in Acrylic Kay Brathol-Hostvet
Learning to mix colors is one of the most daunting and frustrating experiences that painters face. How
many times have you been unable to make a particular color or have you wasted lots of paint in the process? Knowing a few
basics about paint composition, color temperature and color theory helps immensely. This is strictly a hands-on workshop for
those who have previous painting experience. What you learn working with acrylic transfers to other painting mediums, but
acrylic is required for this workshop. Sat
