Snappy Scrappy with photo |
Snappy Scrappy Jackie Hefty
Feeling a little sassy? Join us for a 'breaking the rules' fabric
collage playful day. We will be raiding the fabric stash, using a variety of quilting and upholstery remnants to create what
we affectionately call "Snappy Scrappy". Layers, textures, lace, ribbon, and jewelry, buttons, or beads combine
to become your individualized Snappy Scrappy. Hand or machine stitch your choice pieces into a wall hanging,
book cover or fabric frame for a photo. We will have a few 'simple' sewing machines available, yarns and thread,
an assortment of pre-fringed upholstery fabrics (thanks Mom!) and background canvas for you, along with buttons, beads and
other trinkets. You are encouraged to bring any materials you wish to use and/or share. (Clean out your stash, well
within reason...) It isn't necessary to have a quilting or fiber arts background, having a sense of color combinations
and design will be helpful. A playful attitude is greatly desired.

Savoring the Seasons
Attending to the Artist Within
Christa Bruhn, PhD
Cultivating our creativity as artists is as much about practicing our craft as caring for the vessel through
which we bring forth our mindful masterpieces. Treat yourself to this four-part culinary artist series that follows
the seasons to provide food for thought to inspire the human spirit. You will have the opportunity to deepen your
connection to the natural world by engaging your senses in the sacred ritual of growing, preparing and feasting on wholesome
food prepared in community.

Food: Fall
Feast & Fellowship by the Fire
After a full belly, all is poetry. - Frank McCourt
Fall is the time to harvest
the seedlings we have been nurturing and check in with what we have cultivated within ourselves. We have invested time and
energy in caring for our own personal food source and cultivating our creativity through mindful self-care. Let us gather
to prepare food on the fire and feast on some of the fruits of our labor, then share stories of our own experience with this
incremental process. This gathering will prove to be a moving experience as food and fellowship warm our hearts and infuse
our creative spirits with new energy. Sat, Sept 26 4 -8 pm $85 (supplies included) One does not need
to register for all 4 classes, but we think you may want to . . . additional dates are: Sat March 21 noon - 4 p.m., Sat June
27 1- 7 p.m., and Sat Dec 12 1 - 5 p.m.
