Pochoir Stencils (French Stencil technique) Jackie Hefty Pochoir stencils may find their way as book images,
decorative paper designs, scrapbooking and/or greeting cards. A terrific alternative to screen printing and a great
way to utilize some less expensive pastels. Simplified images and designs work
best as you learn the basics. A good cutting matt and x-acto knife will be necessary. Minimal supply list.

Savoring the Seasons Attending to the Artist Within Christa Bruhn, PhD Cultivating our creativity as artists is as much about practicing our craft as caring for the vessel through
which we bring forth our mindful masterpieces. Treat yourself to this four-part culinary artist series that follows
the seasons to provide food for thought to inspire the human spirit. You will have the opportunity to deepen your
connection to the natural world by engaging your senses in the sacred ritual of growing, preparing and feasting on wholesome
food prepared in community.
The garden
suggests there might be a place where we can meet nature halfway. - Michael Pollan
Part I - Spring
Ritual: Renewal – Planting Potential
Food: Seeds of Self – Creating Your
Very Own Kitchen Garden
What
is more symbolic of renewal than seeds themselves? Take part in the ritual of renewal by planting seeds for your very own
indoor or outdoor kitchen garden. Whether you have a windowsill or an acre of land, you will go home with certified organic
seeds to nurture as a pathway to realizing your own potential. You will not only learn basic skills to grow your own wholesome
organic food and have the opportunity to dedicate your seedlings to your personal renewal, but also learn how this practice
will enhance your capacity for self-care and cultivating your creative potential. As a bonus you will discover
the hidden treasures off season by sprouting nuts, seeds, and legumes to provide you with healthy fresh food in the interim.
What better way to nurture your creative spirit! Sat, March 21 12 – 4 pm $85 (supplies included) One does not need to register for all
4 classes, but we think you may want to . . . additional dates are: Sat June 27 1- 7 p.m., Sat Sept 26 4
- 8 p.m., and Sat Dec 12 1 - 5 p.m.
Are your batteries
running on low? Need a creative recharge? Can't commit to a two day or even a one day workshop right now? Sign up for
one of our 3 or 4 hour programs, or perhaps one of the monthly gatherings. Share a few hours in a supportive environment
with creative and like-minded individuals.

Variations on Stab Bindings |
Sewn Books: Pamphlet
and Stab Bindings Jackie Hefty We will complete several variations using these two basic sewing techniques.
A great foundation to your book making skills. Minimal supplies needed. Sat. March 28, 1 - 4:30
$55/$5 materials
Just a little note: Many of the classes I personally offer are meant to provide a progression
in inter-related book arts opportunities. It is not necessary to take them in any specific order, but understand they are
complimentary in nature. By taking a decorative paper workshop, you may utilize your work in a book structure as text
pages, end sheets or as a cover. Likewise, by taking papermaking you may use the results in a book or as a substrate for a
print, drawing, painting, or with letterpress. Think of them as part of, or a means to an end, not the
end in themselves. (not that many can not stand alone and be appreciated as completed work) It is also for this reason
I repeat some foundational workshops more often. Understanding the method to my madness may be helpful when making workshop
choices.
